The CPAA’s popular seminar programme is back this Autumn, taking place across the UK, and offering an array of opportunities for attendees. Running across 10 locations in September, these in-person events give members a chance to learn about important industry updates, mix with other accountants, gain CPD credits, and much more besides.
As the industry evolves and regulations change, staying abreast of the latest developments and forging professional connections becomes increasingly crucial. The CPAA's in-person seminars offer a comprehensive platform for accountants to gain new insights, improve skills, and expand their professional networks.
Take a look at why September’s seminars are not to be missed.
Hot topics: Whether it’s the latest tax updates, a deep dive into AML, or helping make sense of complex new regulations, the aim is to deliver topical subjects that accountants need to know. Created by experts in their field, the seminar content brings attendees up to speed on important issues, so they can bring this newfound knowledge into their practices and client work.
Engagement and focus: The benefit of learning at a physical event is that speakers deliver the content in a way that provides motivation and connections with their chosen subject, which promotes deeper and more resilient learning. It also minimises distractions, as a dedicated learning environment helps attendees maintain focus and engage more deeply with the content.
Boost CPD points: By attending, you earn 6 hours of structured CPD points. Members must complete 20 hours of both structured/verifiable CPD and 20 hours of non-structured/verifiable CPD throughout the year. To make this manageable, spread it out over several months. This is why we have such a rich and diverse array of events on throughout the year.
Two-way communication: In-person seminars feature the opportunity to interact directly with speakers and presenters to ask questions and seek clarifications. Attendees can also share experiences and participate in discussions. Through this type of communication, participants benefit from immediate feedback and a deeper understanding of complex topics.
Exclusive materials: Often, in-person participants receive exclusive materials or resources not available online – or are able to discuss the materials in greater depth. They benefit from the ability to confer with peers and share useful industry information with one another.
Immersive experience: The ambiance and energy of an in-person seminar creates a more immersive and memorable experience. Getting out of the office offers a break from the usual work routine, a new environment, and refreshing and inspiring new perspectives.
Hone communication skills: Engaging in an in-person setting enhances interpersonal and communication skills. Accountants can practice speaking, networking and navigating new social situations, which are valuable professional skills at any stage of a professional career.
Networking opportunities: In-person events provide a unique chance to connect with peers, industry leaders, and potential employers or employees. These face-to-face interactions, including informal conversations during scheduled breaks, are invaluable for building lasting professional relationships. Remember to read our networking like a pro article before you go.
